Matthew Lamb, Child Star on "High Potential," Announces Mother's Death

Matthew Lamb, a 14-year-old actor known for his role on the ABC crime comedy "High Potential," announced on Tuesday that his mother, Meredith Lamb, has died. He shared the news on Instagram over the weekend, stating that the loss still feels unreal.

Lamb described his mother as his "everything," crediting her with teaching him and supporting their family. "She always had the biggest smile and she gave the best hugs. Truly the most selfless person I know," he wrote in a post accompanied by family photos.

"This isn’t something I ever thought I would have to do," Lamb continued. "There’s so much she is going to miss in my life, but I’m grateful for the things she was able to experience. I love you, Mama."

Meredith Lamb also served as a parent liaison for the Broadway Artists Alliance (BAA). The organization released a statement remembering her as a "champion for every student, staff member, and parent" and the "glue that held our family together."

"No matter how long you had known Meredith - years, hours, or mere minutes - she took the time to listen, encourage, and lift you up," the BAA said. "You were genuinely special to her from the moment you met her… and we know how incredibly special she became to all of you, too."

In honor of Meredith Lamb's belief in the "power of the arts and the dreams of young performers," the BAA announced plans to offer scholarships in her name to support aspiring young artists. "High Potential," which also features Steve Howey, has been airing on ABC since 2024.
