Actor Matt Damon recently became an unintentional observer in a viral video capturing a heartwarming encounter at Disneyland. Damon was spotted in the background of a video taken by park guest Loryn Powell, as her young daughter met Goofy.
Dressed casually in a baseball cap and a button-up shirt, Damon stood a short distance away, smiling as he watched the interaction. The video shows the little girl hugging Goofy, who was in a chef costume, while her father crouched down to speak with her. Powell shared the video on Instagram with text overlay noting the unexpected celebrity presence.
Powell later commented on the moment, joking that her daughter was more starstruck by Goofy than by Damon. She told The California Post that her family’s trip to Disneyland for her daughter's first visit was "magical," even without the celebrity sighting.
Damon, 55, is a father of four daughters with his wife, Luciana Barroso. The family recently celebrated his daughter Gia’s 18th birthday at Disneyland, where they were photographed wearing matching "Birthday Crew" shirts. It is unclear if the viral video was captured on the same day as the birthday celebration.
In a previous interview with People magazine, Damon emphasized the importance of family dinners, stating that they are a non-negotiable part of their routine. He also mentioned that the family actively works on reducing their phone usage during family time.
