Matt Damon has shared that his eldest daughter, Alexia Barroso, is forging her own path in the film industry as a cinematographer. The 27-year-old has already contributed to approximately 12 films, with some of her work appearing in Damon's recent projects.

Damon, who is currently promoting his role as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's epic "The Odyssey," discussed his children's interests in filmmaking during a recent interview. He noted that Alexia has worked on camera teams globally and has lent her skills to the department on films such as "The Last Duel" (2021) and "The Instigators" (2024).

Alexia is the daughter of Damon's wife, Luciana Barroso Damon, from a previous relationship. Damon married Luciana in 2005 and later adopted Alexia. The couple also have three younger daughters: Isabella, 20; Gia, 17; and Stella, 15.

While Alexia has embarked on her film career, Damon suggested that his other daughters might also follow suit. He mentioned that Isabella, who is currently studying at NYU, is a talented writer, and he could envision her pursuing screenwriting. His two younger daughters, still in high school, are yet to indicate their future career aspirations.

Reflecting on his own experiences, Damon shared how the demands of filming "The Odyssey" impacted his family. The production, which involved extensive travel to locations including Greece, Iceland, Italy, Scotland, and Morocco, required him to be away for extended periods. He noted that the time spent apart was challenging for both him and his daughters, and he channeled those feelings of longing into his character Odysseus's desire to return home. His wife and daughters did visit him during the filming, but he acknowledged their sacrifices.

"The Odyssey" is set for a worldwide theatrical release on July 17.
