Matt Damon and Family Attend Premiere of Ben Affleck's Film 'Animals'
The actor and his wife Luciana Barroso brought three of their daughters to the Mexico City premiere of the Netflix crime thriller.
Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, attended the premiere of the film "Animals" in Mexico City on Sunday, accompanied by three of their four daughters. The couple brought Alexia, 27, Isabella, 20, and Gia, 18, to the event. Their youngest daughter, Stella, 15, was not present.
Damon, 55, and Barroso, 50, both served as producers on the upcoming Netflix crime thriller, which is directed by Damon's longtime friend Ben Affleck. Damon wore a beige trousers, a light grey top, and a dark sports coat, while Barroso opted for a shimmering dark grey gown with a plunging black lace neckline. Their daughters Alexia and Gia wore black dresses, and Isabella, who is signed with IMG Models, wore a nude pink dress.
Damon recently spoke to People about his family life, stating, "We have family dinner every night, and that’s non-negotiable, and it’s always been that way." The family has made several public appearances together this year, including supporting Damon at red carpet events for his film "The Odyssey" over the summer.
Ben Affleck also attended the premiere, wearing a forest green suit with a white button-up shirt and an icy blue tie and pocket square. Affleck stars in "Animals" and took on the lead role after a scheduling conflict prevented Damon from participating as an actor. Kerry Washington also stars in the film as Affleck's wife.
"Animals" is set to be released on Netflix on October 9. The film's logline describes it as: "When the son of L.A. Mayoral Candidate Milo Bradford is kidnapped, he and his wife have a few hours to come up with the ransom payment. With most of their money spent on his political campaign, they have to get their hands dirty and expose a side of their lives they never intended to see the light of day."
Affleck had initially considered casting his ex-wife Jennifer Garner for the role of the wife, but both he and Garner decided against it. "I talked to Jen, and she was like, 'We don't wanna do that. You just get baggage,'" Affleck told Entertainment Weekly. He added that while he would still like to work with Garner in the future, they wanted to avoid the audience associating their past relationship with the on-screen portrayal of a troubled marriage.
