Match of the Day Hosts Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman Reportedly Dating
The BBC football presenters, who co-host the show alongside Gabby Logan, are said to be in a relationship, with reports emerging on Sunday evening.
BBC "Match of the Day" co-hosts Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman are reportedly dating, according to news that emerged Sunday evening. The pair have been a fixture on the program's three-person presenting panel, alongside Gabby Logan, since the start of the last season. This development follows Gary Lineker's departure from the show.
Both Cates and Chapman have navigated personal challenges in their relationship histories. Chapman, a respected broadcaster, was married to his wife Sara for 19 years until her death in 2020 at the age of 44 after a battle with cancer. They had three children together. In 2024, Chapman began a relationship with estate agent Clere Collier, who is based in Dubai. The couple were seen together, and Collier had previously shared affectionate social media tributes. However, they reportedly split in April of this year.
Cates, daughter of football icon Sir Kenny Dalglish, was married to TV producer Tom Cates from 2007 until their divorce in 2021. They share two children. Cates previously spoke on Gabby Logan's podcast in March 2021 about her insecurities regarding dating and her own attractiveness as a middle-aged mother.
Chapman and Cates appeared together on "Celebrity Gogglebox" in July. Reports have surfaced alleging that Chapman began dating Cates while still in a relationship with Collier. A source reportedly told The Sun that Chapman's split with Collier was sudden and that Collier accused Chapman of dating Cates, though Chapman has denied any overlap between the relationships, stating he was single when he began seeing Cates. Cates and Chapman have not publicly commented on the reports.
