Massive Elk Engage in Fierce Antler Battle in Colorado
Wildlife footage captures two large bulls locking horns during the rutting season.
A dramatic wildlife encounter in Colorado has been captured on video, showing two massive bull elk locking antlers in a fierce battle. The footage, shared by Good Bull Outdoors, documents the intense struggle during the elk's rutting season.
According to the social media post accompanying the video, the photographers were drawn to the sound of bugling elk. The night's events proved to be eventful beyond the antler-locking duel. The photographers reported observing a large bull elk bugling while swimming across a lake, a second fight they could hear but not see, a bull repeatedly attempting to reach cows within a fairgrounds, and a police officer shooting a wounded elk calf that had been hit by a car. The encounter also included another bull elk nearly colliding with their truck as it ran past.
