A significant fire has caused a portion of the Marc Darcy fashion outlet's warehouse in Manchester to collapse, as firefighters continue to tackle the blaze. The incident occurred last night, leading to the closure of Bury New Road and advisories for nearby residents to keep windows and doors shut due to heavy smoke.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service reported that crews were actively working to extinguish the fire at the commercial building on Hilton Street in Salford. As of this morning, firefighters remained on the scene.

The Marc Darcy company, a family-run business established in 1989, is known for providing suits to celebrities and athletes. The brand has previously supplied attire for Premier League players and has partnered with football clubs. The warehouse reportedly housed over 100,000 items of stock.

Due to the fire, Marc Darcy has temporarily suspended new order placements. A statement on their website indicates they will resume operations as soon as possible.

The firm's latest accounts filed to Companies House show a turnover of £11.8 million for the year ending March 31, 2025. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
