Massachusetts Man Accused of Cyberstalking Stephen Miller's Wife
Federal prosecutors have charged a Massachusetts resident with cyberstalking Katie Miller, a former political adviser and wife of White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller.
Federal prosecutors in Boston have indicted John Anthony Proia III, 41, on charges of cyberstalking Katie Miller, accusing him of repeatedly contacting her via phone and text with vulgar and menacing messages.
Proia is alleged to have used multiple phone numbers to contact Miller and her parents between August 3 and September 23. According to prosecutors, his communications often included expletives and were delivered in a "menacing tone." Some text messages sent to the parents allegedly described Stephen Miller as "evil" and a "Jewish Nazi/white supremacist."
US Attorney General Todd Blanche stated on social media, "This behavior is criminal and will be treated as it should – with prosecution!" Katie Miller reposted Blanche's message and expressed her gratitude.
Stephen Miller, a close adviser to former President Donald Trump, served as White House deputy chief of staff. Katie Miller is a conservative podcaster and former political adviser.
A lawyer for Proia, of Waltham, Massachusetts, could not be immediately reached for comment. The investigation came to public attention after two counterterrorism officials at the FBI's Washington Field Office were reportedly demoted and reassigned in connection with the inquiry.
