Massachusetts Man Accused of Cyberstalking Former Trump Official Katie Miller
Authorities allege the suspect made dozens of menacing calls and messages to the podcaster and her family.
A man from Massachusetts has been arrested on federal cyberstalking charges, accused of repeatedly targeting conservative podcaster and former Trump administration official Katie Miller with threatening communications.
According to court documents, John Anthony Proia III, 41, contacted Miller at least 40 times over several weeks, leaving disturbing voicemails and text messages that also mentioned her husband, Stephen Miller, a White House deputy chief of staff. Prosecutors stated that messages were also sent to phone numbers belonging to Miller's parents.
Proia faces one count of cyberstalking. An attorney listed for him could not be immediately reached for comment.
While court documents did not identify the victim by name, a person familiar with the matter confirmed it was Katie Miller. This individual spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss non-public aspects of the investigation.
Leah Foley, the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, issued a statement emphasizing that those who use technology to harass or intimidate will be prosecuted. "We will find you, and we will hold you accountable," Foley said.
The investigation reportedly contributed to personnel changes within the FBI's Washington field office. Two senior counterterrorism supervisors were recently reassigned by the office's leader, reportedly due to dissatisfaction with their handling of the Miller probe. Darren Cox, the assistant director in charge of the Washington office, stated that the reassignments were a personnel decision based on mission needs and were not ordered by FBI Director Kash Patel.
