A 7-year-old boy in Williamstown, Massachusetts, died Friday evening after being struck by a car shortly after learning to ride his bicycle. Max Rothschild had been practicing for an upcoming family vacation when he "unintentionally entered Main Street" and was hit.

Max is remembered by his family and community as a bright and confident child. His obituary described him as someone who "brought so much joy and love into all our lives" and will be missed for his "incredible mind, his determination, his mischievousness, his adventurous spirit, his bossiness, his smile." He was also known for his strong personality and was a good friend.

Max had a variety of interests, including swimming, skiing, math, chess, and soccer. He was reportedly proud of his achievements in sports, having been named player of the day at soccer camp and winning competitions at golf clinic. He also enjoyed outdoor adventures such as ropes courses, ziplines, and hiking.

Max spent time at the Williamstown Youth Center and was described by those who knew him as brilliant, intense, kind, and generous. His family noted that "seven years with Max was not enough time."
