Investigators continue to search for clues in the abduction of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, who disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona, home on February 1. No suspects have been named, and no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have released footage from a Nest doorbell camera that shows a masked figure on Guthrie's porch shortly before the camera was disconnected at 1:47 a.m. on February 1. The video, recovered from backend systems, depicts an individual wearing gloves and appearing to be armed while tampering with the security camera.
The footage was difficult to access initially because Guthrie did not have a Nest subscription, which would have uploaded recordings to cloud storage. The FBI was eventually able to retrieve the data from residual storage on backend servers. Additional video shows the individual attempting to cover the camera lens and interacting with the security device.
Investigators believe Nancy Guthrie was taken against her will, citing evidence of blood found near her front doorstep. She was abducted from her approximately $1 million residence in the early hours of February 1.
The Guthrie family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for information that leads to Nancy Guthrie's safe return.
