A 30-year-old Maryland woman, Ashley Andrews, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly flashing a handgun at Taco Bell employees after a dispute over her food order's wait time. The incident occurred at a Taco Bell location in Chester.
According to the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff, Andrews became agitated due to the delay in receiving her food. She reportedly revealed a handgun from under her shirt and threatened the employees, daring them to confront her outside the restaurant.
Deputies arrived at the scene to find Andrews and another individual engaged in an argument with restaurant staff. Authorities recovered Andrews' firearm and reviewed surveillance and cell phone footage, which confirmed the threat made towards the employees.
Andrews was subsequently charged with 2nd Degree Assault, Handgun on Person, Disturbing the Peace/Disorderly Conduct, and Reckless Endangerment. Officials also stated that Andrews was banned from the Taco Bell location and did not receive her order.
In unrelated news, Taco Bell recently expanded its menu by introducing nationwide fajita items and bringing back the Enchirito, a popular menu item not seen since 2023.
