The Arizona Cardinals have traded former No. 4 overall pick Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans, along with a seventh-round pick, in exchange for a second-round pick and a sixth-round pick. The move comes after a report from the Arizona Republic revealed a significant point of contention between Harrison and the Cardinals organization.

According to the report, Harrison requested that the team purchase a Seeker catching machine, a device manufactured by Monarc Sport that can replicate NFL quarterback throws on demand. Harrison had utilized a similar machine during his college career at Ohio State, where it was credited with aiding his development.

The Cardinals organization reportedly balked at the $50,000 cost of the machine. This decision, despite the potential benefits to Harrison's game, is suggested to have been a key factor in the souring relationship.

A source close to the situation told the Republic, "Kid didn't ask for much, but he really wanted that." Former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord also commented on the machine's impact, stating, "He just made it a part of his routine every single day, making sure that every single minute that he had free to get better, he was making the most of it."

In response to the team's refusal, Harrison reportedly purchased the device with his own funds to continue his training. His transition to the NFL has been marked by struggles, particularly with contested catches and yards after contact. The receiver also expressed frustration over a reduced role in the Cardinals' offense, especially with Michael Wilson receiving a significant contract extension.

Last season, Harrison recorded 608 receiving yards and four touchdowns, a decrease from his rookie campaign numbers of 880 yards and eight touchdowns. He will now reunite with former Ohio State teammate C.J. Stroud in Houston, where he will aim for a fresh start. Harrison could potentially make his debut with the Texans this weekend as they face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
