Martha Stewart Scolds Craig Melvin for Spilling Chocolate on Her Pants
The 'Today' co-anchor had an unfortunate mishap during a Halloween cooking segment with the lifestyle icon.
Craig Melvin faced a scolding from Martha Stewart on Friday's "Today" show after he accidentally spilled chocolate ganache on her white pants during a Halloween segment. Stewart was on the program to share festive recipes, including how to create a spiderweb design on a cheesecake.
As Stewart prepared to decorate the cheesecake, Melvin, who was dressed as Snoop Dogg in honor of the 2024 Olympics, stepped in to assist with the chocolate ganache. However, in the process, he spilled some of the confection onto Stewart's attire. "Ahhh!" Stewart exclaimed as the ganache made contact with her pants, while Melvin looked on in disbelief. "Someone forgot the chocolate ganache," she stated.
Stewart's co-stars on the "Today" show, Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly, were also present and appeared shocked by the incident. Stewart, clad in a white sweater adorned with an American flag patch, playfully admonished Melvin by saying, "Snoop! Real Snoop would never do this!"
Despite the mishap, Stewart managed to regain her composure and proceeded with decorating the cheesecake, though she described the ganache as "so sloppy" and remarked, "I have burning legs of hot chocolate."
This was not the only awkward interview moment for Melvin this week. On Monday, during an interview with actress Parker Posey, he mistakenly used the word "whore" when referring to a potential horror film role for the actress. Posey reacted with surprise, stating, "I thought you called me a whore!" Melvin quickly clarified his misstatement, emphasizing "H-o-r-r-, horror." The interview took another turn when Posey revealed she was no longer attached to the rumored film.
Melvin acknowledged that the interview with Posey had become "even more awkward than usual," but the exchange concluded on a lighthearted note, with Posey finding the situation "funny."
