Martha Stewart has claimed that Meghan Markle discussed her recent private reunion with King Charles at a dinner party in California.

Stewart told People magazine that she and Markle, 45, were both guests at the gathering. According to Stewart, Markle had recently returned from a meeting with the King.

"I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California," Stewart said in an interview published Wednesday. "I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it."

This alleged conversation took place after Prince Harry, Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, met with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House in the United Kingdom on July 10. This marked the first time King Charles, 77, had seen his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet since 2022, when they attended Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee. Sources previously indicated to Page Six that the reunion was not entirely warm.

The Sussexes' visit to the UK also reportedly encountered difficulties prior to the reunion. Harry and Markle were allegedly denied taxpayer-funded security, and an offer to stay at Buckingham Palace was rescinded. A source told People that the trip became a "nightmare" for Markle, who reportedly had to leave earlier than planned with the children.

Markle's 45th birthday on Tuesday was also reportedly not publicly acknowledged by the royal family, which sources attributed to the Sussexes no longer being working royals since 2020. Meghan Markle

In the same interview with People, Stewart also commented on Markle's ventures into the lifestyle and cooking space. "If you’re an actress, it’s hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show," Stewart stated. "It doesn’t sort of follow. So go from there."

Following her departure from royal duties, Markle launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and a Netflix series titled "With Love, Meghan." The show was reportedly canceled after three seasons, and Netflix later cut ties with As Ever.

Representatives for Markle and Buckingham Palace have been contacted for comment.
