Martha Stewart, 85, has publicly described her ex-husband, Andy Stewart, as a "jerk." The mogul's comments, made recently, address their nearly 30-year marriage and its eventual dissolution.

Stewart was married to the publisher from 1961 until their separation in 1987, with their divorce finalized in 1990. She discussed their relationship, including instances of infidelity on both sides, in her 2024 Netflix documentary. During the film, Stewart admitted to having an affair with a "handsome Irish man" and also accused Andy of infidelity.

When asked by People if her ex-husband had contacted her after the documentary's release, Stewart stated, "Only legally, to remind me of divorce settlement statements, which I had never read." She also advised young women experiencing infidelity in their marriages to leave. "If you're married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he's a piece of s**t. Get out of that marriage," she said.

Stewart revealed in the documentary that she had an affair early in her marriage, suggesting her ex-husband was unaware. "Yeah, but I don't think Andy ever knew about that," she quipped when asked by an off-screen producer.

Stewart and Andy Stewart had one child together, Alexis Stewart, who is now 60. She met Andy on a blind date when she was 19 and he was 23.

She dished about their nearly 30-year marriage, including infidelity and their subsequent split, in her 2024 self-titled Netflix documentary

Currently, Stewart, who turned 85 on August 3, leads a busy life and stated that having a partner is "less important" at this stage. She indicated that she still goes out socially, though she did not categorize them as dates. "I have a very, very full – oh, probably too full! – life. I go out on... I don’t know if you call them dates or not, but I go out," she shared. She also mentioned having dated younger men in the past and emphasized that she is "not a lonely person."
