Martha Stewart, 85, publicly declared her lingering animosity toward her ex-husband, Andy Stewart, during an appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York City on Wednesday.

Stewart, who was married to Andy for nearly 30 years before their divorce was finalized in 1990, reflected on her decision to keep the original 1982 dedication to him in the facsimile re-release of her debut book, "Entertaining." "We did a facsimile edition and we kept everything in that book. Even my dedication to my ex-husband, who I hate," Stewart stated on stage. "It's still dedicated to him."

The couple, who married in 1961, separated in 1987. They share one daughter, Alexis Stewart, 60.

In a 2024 Netflix documentary, Stewart had previously admitted to having an affair during her marriage with an Irish man, while also accusing Andy of infidelity. At the time, she advised, "Young women, listen to my advice, if you're married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he's a piece of s**t. Get out of that marriage."

Stewart also revealed that she had an affair, quipping that she didn't believe Andy was aware of it. Last month, she referred to him as a "jerk" in an interview with People magazine while discussing his reaction to the documentary. When asked if Andy had contacted her after the documentary's release, she stated, "Only legally, to remind me of divorce settlement statements, which I had never read. I mean, who cared after two years of arguing about a settlement? I still haven’t read it. He’s a jerk."

Stewart also addressed recent attention surrounding her social media posts, including a suggestive photo captioned "I’ve been thinking about releasing my nudes." She clarified that this was a promotional tactic for her new line of nude lip glosses, part of her skincare line Elm Biosciences. "My 'nudes' are just a ploy, they are actually fabulous lip serums to wear day and night to keep your lips as lustrous and soft as your skin," she explained.

During the festival appearance, Stewart humorously recounted receiving a message from her granddaughter, Jude Stewart, 15, with a simple "No" in response to the nude photo comment, adding, "So embarrassing."

"I'm good at that. I'm good at promotion and I'm good at getting people's attention," Stewart added.
