‘Marshals’ Season 2 Premieres Sunday, October 4th on CBS

The wait is over for fans of Taylor Sheridan's "Yellowstone" universe. "Marshals" Season 2 is set to premiere Sunday, October 4, 2026, on CBS. The new season picks up directly after the events of the Season 1 finale, which left viewers with several unresolved plotlines, including the kidnapping of Tate.

CBS announced an early renewal for "Marshals" in March 2026, following a successful debut that marked the best network TV launch since 2017 and became CBS's most-streamed episode ever. "'Marshals' delivered a breakout performance, capturing a massive audience across platforms and quickly establishing itself as one of TV’s most powerful new series," Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, stated at the time.

The Season 2 premiere, titled "All Hat No Cattle," will address the kidnapping of Tate Dutton, Kayce's son. The official synopsis states that Kayce will go rogue in a desperate race to save his son, while the Marshals uncover a powerful criminal operation connected to the East Camp land grab, leading to a violent confrontation that jeopardizes everything Kayce holds dear.

For those needing a refresher, the Season 1 finale saw core characters parting ways after defending Rainwater from an armed assault. Cruz headed to Washington D.C., Belle and Cal faced danger, and Kayce's son Tate was taken, presumably as leverage for Tom Weaver's plan to acquire East Camp.

"Marshals" Season 2 will air at a special time of 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT on its premiere night, October 4, due to an NFL game. Following the premiere, the series will return to its regular Sunday 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT time slot starting October 11.

Fans can stream Season 1 and new Season 2 episodes of "Marshals" on Paramount+. The service offers two subscription plans: Essential, which is ad-supported and costs $8.99 per month, and Premium, which is ad-free and includes Showtime titles and live CBS programming for $13.99 per month. A seven-day free trial is available for the Premium plan.

While a crossover between "Marshals" and "Dutton Ranch" has been a topic of discussion, actor Luke Grimes has indicated that a direct team-up in the immediate future is unlikely, partly due to differing production schedules. "Dutton Ranch" Season 2 is slated to begin filming in early 2027, with a potential premiere in the same year. However, the possibility of future crossovers remains open, with both cast and creators expressing interest.

"Marshals" is primarily filmed in Utah, despite its Montana setting.
