Marriott International has announced a significant shift in its beverage offerings, replacing Pepsi products with Coca-Cola beverages across its more than 600 California locations. The change comes after a 34-year partnership between the hotel chain and PepsiCo concluded. The hotel giant has signed a new global agreement with The Coca-Cola Company, which will extend beyond soft drinks to include the company's portfolio of hydration and functional beverages.
Anthony Capuano, President and Chief Executive Officer of Marriott International, stated that the agreement aligns with a shared commitment to quality and creating memorable experiences. He also noted the focus on delivering products that guests and Marriott Bonvoy Members prefer and creating economic benefits for owners and franchise operators.
The rollout of Coca-Cola products has already begun. Guests will soon find the new beverage options in rooms, lounges, restaurants, and meeting spaces at Marriott properties worldwide. The expansion of this partnership beyond soft drinks signals a broader strategy to offer a wider range of beverage choices.
Marriott first began serving Pepsi products in its hotels in 1992. A multi-year agreement signed in 2018 had extended their relationship for more than 25 years. The shift to Coca-Cola marks a notable change in its long-standing beverage arrangements.
