Married Couple Found Dead Outside $1.2 Million California Home

A married couple was discovered shot dead outside their $1.2 million home in Berkeley, California, on Friday morning, leaving the upscale community shaken. The Oakland Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a house on Panoramic Way around 10:45 a.m. Officers provided lifesaving measures but pronounced the 63-year-old woman and 61-year-old man dead at the scene. The couple has been identified as clothing designers Bryan and Michelle Walker, owners of the Bryn Walker clothing line, which has been based in Berkeley since 1992.

Assistant Police Chief Casey Johnson stated at a press conference Friday evening that no arrests had been made and the homicide unit was investigating. A firearm was found at the scene, and police said there is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood. Investigators have not ruled out any possibilities, including murder-suicide.

One neighbor, Alessandro Isolani, described Bryan Walker as a "good guy, solid member of the community" and noted his long-term marriage. Isolani reported hearing two bangs before police arrived, expressing shock at the event, as he had not witnessed violent crime in the scenic neighborhood in over 20 years. The area is known for its affluent homes and proximity to the University of California, Berkeley campus.

The university confirmed on social media that there were no "known or ongoing threats" to students following the incident. Berkeley resident Steve Kanofsky called the event "tragic," while Michael Walkman of the Panoramic Hill Neighborhood Association described it as "shocking" and noted the couple was not highly involved in neighborhood activities.

The Oakland Police Department is seeking information and surveillance footage from the public to aid the investigation and has asked anyone with details to contact its homicide team. The Daily Mail has reached out to Bryn Walker for comment.
