Marnie Simpson Details 'Bitter Family Feud' and 'Verbal Attacks'

Marnie Simpson, known for her role in 'Geordie Shore', has publicly disclosed a significant family dispute, stating she has endured "verbal attacks and been called some of the most disgusting things imaginable" by "hateful bullies."

In a lengthy TikTok post, Simpson detailed the impact of this feud, revealing it has contributed to her experiencing "full-blown depression." She shared that she entered her husband Casey Johnson's family with "nothing but love and good intentions," seeking friendship and closeness. However, she claims that over the years, she has been "dragged, bashed excluded and put through things I still don't fully understand the reasons for."

Simpson suggested that her public profile, stemming from her 'Geordie Shore' past, has led to her being perceived as the focal point of family drama. "People already have a perception of who they think I am, so it becomes very easy to paint me as the problem, the difficult one or 'the ringleader,' when in reality people do not know me," she stated.

She also addressed perceptions related to her current lifestyle, acknowledging that her possessions might lead others to believe she is arrogant. "I also think it's very easy for people to look at the life I have now, the cars I drive, the house I live in or the opportunities I've had, and automatically decide that I must be up myself or think I'm better than other people," Simpson explained, asserting that this narrative is untrue and that she remains grounded, originating from a humble background.

Simpson emphasized that her past on 'Geordie Shore', a show she described as a "controversial television show and a chapter of our lives when we were 20+ years old," does not define her current identity. She is now a mother to three children and her priorities have shifted. "I don't want drama, I genuinely just want peace, genuine friendships, my marriage, my children and a happy life," she stated.

Addressing the family conflict directly, Simpson clarified that she is not responsible for the issues between other adult family members. "I have my own separate and valid reasons for the relationships I have chosen to step away from, just as everybody else has theirs," she said. "I did not create other people's problems, I did not control anybody's decisions, and I certainly did not orchestrate some huge family fallout."

Simpson revealed that the bullying has extended to her children. "My son has been bullied. My children have been dragged into things they should never have been involved in. I've been verbally attacked, and called some of the most disgusting things imaginable by people I once considered family," she recounted. She expressed confusion and hurt over the animosity directed at her, stating, "Hand on heart, I genuinely do not believe I have done anything to deserve the level of anger and hatred that has been directed towards me and I still don't know why."

She further stated that while she is not a perfect person, she knows her actions within this situation. Simpson, who dreamed of having a large family, particularly for her children, finds the idea that she would intentionally break up a family "completely and utterly wrong and incorrect."

Simpson explained that she endured difficult behavior for years in an effort to maintain peace within the family dynamic. However, she reached a point where continuing to tolerate hurtful behavior was damaging her own well-being. "Walking away from relationships that were hurting me and my children was not me trying to destroy a family. It was me finally accepting that I couldn't keep destroying myself just to remain part of one," she stated. She believes defending herself is necessary and does not make her the problem.

Simpson's aim is to move forward without being associated with people and situations that are not directly related to her. She desires for her name to be kept out of other individuals' relationship disputes and decisions.

While Simpson indicated that forgiveness and moving forward would be ideal, especially for the children, she stated that "deeply personal, hurtful and unforgivable" events have made this impossible. She asserted her right to draw boundaries without needing to share painful details publicly.

Simpson concluded by explaining that her decision to speak out was driven by the toll that remaining silent had taken on her mental health. "Watching things be said about me that I know are untrue, while feeling like I have to constantly swallow it and take the blame for family issues and say nothing, has become more damaging than finally speaking up," she said. "I'm not doing this because I want drama, I'm doing this because carrying everything quietly for so long has taken a genuine toll on me, and I need to stand up for myself and finally draw a line under it."
