Mark Wahlberg Film 'By Any Means' Arrives on Digital Platforms

The crime thriller "By Any Means," starring Mark Wahlberg as a notorious mafia hitman, is now available for digital purchase and rental. The film, directed by Elegance Bratton and written by Sascha Penn, was released on digital platforms on October 20, 2026.

Wahlberg portrays Gregory Scarpa, a real-life mobster who also served as an FBI informant. The movie loosely adapts Scarpa's story, focusing on his involvement in the FBI's investigation into the murders of civil rights leaders in Mississippi in 1966. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II co-stars as Special FBI Agent Wayne Strider, a character based on agent Lindley DeVecchio. The ensemble cast also includes Nicole Beharie, Josh Lucas, LisaGay Hamilton, LaChanze, Ethan Embry, David Strathairn, and Giancarlo Esposito.

Fans can purchase or rent "By Any Means" on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home. On Amazon Prime Video, the digital purchase price is set at $24.99.

While the film is not yet available on subscription streaming services, it is expected to debut on Paramount+ before the end of 2026. Paramount+ offers two subscription tiers: Essential, an ad-supported plan for $8.99 per month, and Premium, an ad-free plan that includes Showtime content for $13.99 per month. A seven-day free trial is available for the Premium plan.

Based on the release pattern of other recent Paramount films, such as "Scary Movie," which became available on Paramount+ approximately three months after its theatrical release, "By Any Means" could begin streaming on the service in early December 2026. However, an official streaming release date has not yet been announced by the studio. Paramount is also planning a merger with HBO Max, the timeline for which remains uncertain.
