Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) offered a grim assessment of President Donald Trump's recent staff changes, predicting a dire future for the Republican Party.
In a social media post on Friday, Greene stated that the departure of Susie Wiles as White House Chief of Staff, with Stephen Miller set to replace her, signals a continuation of policies that have already frustrated voters. Greene suggested that Trump's move is an attempt to consolidate control over the party ahead of the next presidential election.
"So you can expect more of the same from the White House that you were probably already pissed off and frustrated about," Greene said on X. "Only this time, he’s going to go into a hyper, hyper mode because they’re about to get investigated in every way possible by the Democrats who are going to control the all-powerful House and Senate committees starting in January of 2027."
Wiles' resignation follows the Republican Party's recent midterm election losses. Trump announced that Wiles would be moving to "the Trump Political Operation," with Miller assuming her duties on Monday. Wiles stated that her commitment to the president and the mission remains unchanged.
However, Greene, a former ally of Trump who has since become a vocal critic of his administration's policies, believes the staff shake-up is a strategic maneuver to influence the upcoming presidential election. She stated that this move could lead to the party having "zero chance in 2028."
Greene elaborated that a significant portion of voters who supported Trump in the 2024 election, including independents, libertarians, and "America First" voters, would not back a candidate chosen by Trump in 2028. She predicted that a "massive network of people" from this coalition would scrutinize any candidate Trump attempts to promote.
"They’re not conservative, so they don’t represent your conservative values, and they proved it," Greene said. "They’re not truly Christian. They don’t represent your Christian values, and they are the ones completely responsible for this massive Democrat superpower because they didn’t do what they told you they were going to do."
