Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a one-time ally of Donald Trump, has intensified her criticism of the former president, focusing on the surge in diesel prices. On Sunday, Greene posted on X that Trump now held the record for the highest diesel prices in history, surpassing President Joe Biden, with the national average reaching approximately $6.50 per gallon.
"Is this what winning is like?? I’m so sick of Trump’s ‘winning.’ So so so sick of it," Greene wrote. She also addressed "pathetic hypocritical maga cult accounts and bots," vowing to continue her commentary on fuel prices.
Greene elaborated on her grievances, stating, "I didn’t campaign for that liar and fight to get him elected for him to betray us all and start an unprovoked foreign war, kill a bunch of little girls in a school, get our military men and women killed and wounded, make it unaffordable for regular Americans to pump fuel in their cars and trucks, and refuse to release the Epstein files."
She emphasized the critical role of diesel in the U.S. economy, noting that "EVERYTHING in this country runs on diesel!!! EVERYTHING that matters." The U.S. Energy Information Administration confirms diesel's importance, explaining that most products are transported by diesel-powered trucks and trains, and that construction, farming, and military vehicles often use diesel engines.
This criticism comes after Trump himself recently urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to halt attacks on Russian diesel infrastructure. Trump argued that these strikes were contributing to a fuel shortage. His request drew criticism for urging Ukraine to restrict its attacks on Russian energy targets while Russia continued its own attacks on Ukraine.
