Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., sharply criticized the legacy of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., labeling him a "murderer" and a "warmonger" during an appearance on the progressive news show The Young Turks on Monday.

Greene stated that while she found Graham, who died Saturday at age 71, to be "funny, fun-loving," she fundamentally disagreed with many of his policies. "He was a neocon warmonger. He was a murderer," Greene told host Cenk Uygur. "He wanted to wipe out and kill many innocent people in Iran, in Gaza, in Lebanon. He supported war more than anything."

According to Greene, Graham "never wanted peace." She suggested his interest in peace was only recent, potentially due to the impact of ongoing wars on the midterm elections for Republicans. Graham, who evolved from a Trump critic to an ally, supported the Trump administration's actions, including the military engagement in Iran.

Greene also characterized Graham as a "dedicated Zionist" and criticized his foreign policy, asserting he worked "diligently" to direct U.S. funds and weapons to Israel. Greene aligned herself with some left-leaning figures who offered critical remarks following Graham's death, including Uygur's co-host Ana Kasparian, who posted "Good riddance" on X.

"I wholeheartedly agree with Ana," Greene affirmed. She elaborated, "The Lindsey Graham warmongering and, and blatant murder is — really, you can call him a murderer — and other politicians like him, they’re murderers because they demand it. They demand war. They demand that our tax dollars pay for war. They demand that American-made weapons be sent to kill people."

Greene further contended that the pro-war faction within the Republican party, represented by Graham, was precisely the element that she and other MAGA Republicans aimed to "end" by electing Donald Trump. "And boy, have we been wrong!" she stated. "One of the great things that Lindsey Graham was very good at was buddying up with Donald Trump, and he was able to sway Donald Trump to his side, to his view, and that’s been one of the biggest betrayals." Greene described this as a profound betrayal that deeply troubles her.
