Marie Osmond's son, Matthew, recently married his partner Kaitlynn in a ceremony held in Lindon, Utah. The 66-year-old television personality announced the news on Instagram, sharing photographs from the event.

Osmond, who also noted that she and her husband Stephen "Steve" Craig were enjoying a couple's getaway after a busy month, described the wedding as "such a beautiful" celebration. The ceremony took place on September 8.

In a blog post on her website, Osmond expressed her affection for weddings, stating, "Now that my son has found his perfect match, it's all the sweeter." She acknowledged the details involved in organizing a wedding, even as the mother of the groom rather than the bride. As a mother of eight and grandmother to nine, Osmond mentioned that arranging accommodations for her large family was one of her responsibilities.

Osmond elaborated on her role as a grandmother, calling it her "absolute happy place" and a reason for spending more time at home. She emphasized her desire to be a present figure in her grandchildren's lives. She also recalled instances where her grandchildren have proudly shared her musical career with their friends.

Osmond's son Matthew is one of seven children she has with her ex-husband Brian Blosil. Osmond also has an older son, Stephen Jr., with her current husband, whom she remarried in 2011 after an initial marriage from 1982 to 1985. Her marriage to Blosil lasted from 1986 to 2007, during which time they had seven children. Their late son Michael passed away in 2010 at the age of 19. Osmond has previously spoken about the joy of grandparenthood, comparing the experience to having children "on steroids" and noting the freedom to enjoy her grandchildren without the same parental responsibilities.

In her Sunday Message blog, the actress wrote that 'having a wedding is one of my favorite things in the world' and 'now that my son has found his perfect match, it's all the sweeter'
