Mariah Carey recently shared rare photo booth pictures of herself with her 15-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, on Instagram. The images, posted on a Thursday, showed the pop icon with her children making playful faces and offering peace signs. Carey captioned the post with "Twinning 💕."
Fans reacted to the post, with many expressing surprise at how grown up the twins, born in 2011, have become. Comments noted the significant growth and resemblance to their mother, with one user writing, "Omg I remember when you first had them." Another commented, "not babies anymore."
Carey shares Moroccan and Monroe with her ex-husband, Nick Cannon. The couple married in 2008, welcomed their twins in 2011, separated in 2014, and finalized their divorce in 2016.
In May, Cannon discussed his parenting approach, noting a distinction between his rules for his son and daughter. He stated that while he allows his son to date and even encourages it, he maintains a more protective stance toward his daughter, Monroe, citing a need to shield her from certain individuals. "I am more protective of my daughter because there’s things out there that I have to protect my daughter from," Cannon explained on the "TMZ Podcast."
Carey and Cannon have generally kept their children out of the public eye, sharing photos of them primarily for holidays and significant milestones. In March, Carey made a humorous appearance on Moroccan's Twitch livestream, which he found somewhat embarrassing but ultimately ended by telling his mother he loved her.
