Mariah Carey Night Ends with Shocking 'Dancing With the Stars' Elimination
Ciara Miller and Brandon Armstrong are sent home after performing a Jazz routine.
This week’s “Dancing With the Stars” episode, themed around the music of Mariah Carey, concluded with a surprising elimination: Ciara Miller and her professional partner, Brandon Armstrong.
The “Summer House” star and Armstrong were eliminated Tuesday night after receiving a score of 21 out of 30 from the judges for their Jazz performance to Carey’s hit “Emotions.”
Earlier in the evening, co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro announced that two other couples were also in jeopardy of leaving the competition. Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson’s Samba to “Obsessed” earned the lowest score of the night, 13 out of 30, while Jackson Olson and Emma Slater received a 21 out of 30 for their Waltz to “Without You.”
Other notable performances included Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson’s Tango to “It’s Like That” (feat. Jermaine Dupri and Fatman Scoop), which scored a 24 out of 30. Paralympian Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach received a 24 out of 30 for their Rumba to “Anytime You Need a Friend.”
Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess’s Foxtrot to “#Beautiful” (feat. Miguel) garnered a 21 out of 30. Comedian Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold’s Rumba to “Touch My Body” scored 19 out of 30.
Leading the leaderboard for the night was Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas, whose Waltz to “If It’s Over” earned them the highest score of 25 out of 30.
Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa performed a Viennese Waltz to “Vision of Love,” receiving a 21 out of 30. Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy scored a 24 out of 30 for their Rumba to “My All.” Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik’s Jazz routine to “Fantasy” garnered a 20 out of 30, and Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov received a 23 out of 30 for their Rumba to “Hero.”
Previous eliminations this season include Conner Leavitt, Sarah Jane Nader, Giada De Laurentiis, and Taylor Hanson.
New episodes of “Dancing With the Stars” air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with streaming available on Hulu the following day.
