Maria Bartiromo has broken her social media silence following her departure from Fox News and Fox Business, posting a brief message on X, formerly Twitter. The post, her first in nearly a month, included a photo of a rainbow.
"Thank you to all friends & followers for your amazing words I am so grateful for the outpouring of love on SM & texts," Bartiromo wrote. "I love you all. here's a great shot of the [rainbow emoji] breaking through, I snapped the other day. More to come."
Fox News Media confirmed Bartiromo's exit last Thursday, stating, "We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter." The statement was described as noticeably curt by some outlets.
Bartiromo, 58, had been absent from Fox's airwaves since August 10. The specific circumstances of her exit remain unclear. Bartiromo's attorney, Bryan Freedman, has disputed reports suggesting she was fired, calling them "irresponsible and absolutely and unequivocally false."
A report indicated that the decision to part ways was made by the company. Another report claimed her exit stemmed from allegations of leaking an internal company message to the White House in July. Senior Trump advisor Peter Navarro suggested that censorship and Bartiromo's ties to the previous administration may have played a role in her departure.
