Margot Robbie has officially changed her last name to Ackerley, nearly 10 years after marrying film producer Tom Ackerley. Documents filed on Sept. 21 for her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, show the shift from "Margot Elise Robbie" to "Margot Elise Ackerley." It is anticipated that Robbie will continue to use her maiden name for professional purposes.

The couple first met in 2014 on the set of the film "Suite Française" and married in December 2016. Robbie previously shared with Vogue in 2016 that she did not initially envision marriage, describing herself as "the ultimate single gal" when they met.

"The idea of relationships made me want to vomit. And then this crept up on me," Robbie stated, noting their long-standing friendship. She further explained her initial hesitation, "I was always in love with him, but I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him.’ And then it happened, and I was like, of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before."

Robbie and Ackerley welcomed their first child, a son, in October 2024. The pair have kept their son's name private.
