Margaret Qualley has issued a denial against circulating rumors suggesting she cheated on husband Jack Antonoff, with her representative calling the narratives "categorically untrue."
A statement obtained by TMZ on Friday asserted that "There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship." The statement further emphasized that external sources commenting on their relationship "are not people who know them" and requested privacy.
Speculation about the couple's relationship status intensified following Antonoff's appearance at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding on July 3, where Qualley was absent. Antonoff attended the event with his sister, fashion designer Rachel Antonoff, instead of his wife. This event followed a report from People magazine suggesting their relationship was "rocky" and that they were no longer living together, with another source indicating they were "figuring things out."
Eagle-eyed fans also noted that Qualley, who is currently filming the remake of "Possession," had deleted wedding photos of herself and Antonoff from her social media accounts. The couple was last seen together publicly at the Grammy Awards in February, appearing to be affectionate in photos that have since been removed from Instagram and X.
Qualley's most recent public social media acknowledgment of Antonoff was a birthday wish on her Instagram Story on March 31, captioned "Happy birthday sweetheart." Prior to this, on April 28, she changed her Instagram username from @isimostar to @sarahmargaretqualley23, a move some fans linked to Antonoff's band Bleachers' 2024 song titled "Isimo."
Further fueling conjecture was Qualley's seemingly awkward response in a previous interview when asked about Antonoff not producing one of Taylor Swift's albums. When questioned by Today co-host Craig Melvin about an upcoming Swift record, Qualley stated, "I don't know anything," before offering an awkward laugh and adding, "I'll be excited to listen to the music." Antonoff has been a long-time collaborator and producer for Swift, co-writing and producing her albums "Midnights" (2022) and "The Tortured Poets Department" (2024), though her latest record was produced by Max Martin and Shellback.
Qualley and Antonoff were first romantically linked in August 2021 and later confirmed their relationship by attending the Critics' Choice Awards together in March 2022. They married in 2023 at Parker's Garage in Long Beach, New Jersey, with notable guests including Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne, and Lana Del Rey in attendance. Swift's fans had previously garnered attention for swarming the couple's wedding rehearsal dinner in 2023.
