Country music star Maren Morris announced that she will be stepping away from touring indefinitely after completing her current summer concert series. The 36-year-old singer revealed her decision Friday, stating a desire to take time off after a decade of continuous touring.

Morris, who recently attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, is in the midst of her dreamGIRL Tour. She has 13 remaining performances, with the final show scheduled as a festival headliner in late August. "This is sort of my last tour for a bit," Morris told Today. "I want to be able to free think more and be in the studio more, and just figure out what I want to say next."

She explained that the demanding schedule of touring has left little time for creative exploration. "It's been 10 years of touring, so no real time to stop and truly be creative unless I carve out the time," she said. Morris aims to dedicate more time to songwriting and studio work.

In addition to her creative pursuits, Morris also cited family as a reason for the hiatus. She wants to spend more time at home with her six-year-old son, Hayes, particularly as he begins kindergarten. "My son is starting kindergarten, and I really wanted to be off the road when that began," she stated.

Morris shares Hayes with her ex-husband, fellow musician Ryan Hurd. The couple finalized their divorce in 2024 after five years of marriage.

While Morris has not specified a return date for touring, she indicated plans to continue writing and recording music. "I'll just get back in the studio and figure out what the eff happens next," she said.

Her tour continues with a performance on July 11 in Napa, California, followed by 11 shows across the U.S., concluding in Bonner, Montana, on July 25. Following the tour's conclusion, Morris has two additional August performances. She is scheduled for a one-night-only show in Nashville to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her debut album, "HERO," and its newly released deluxe project, "HERO: A Second Wind." She will also headline the Long Road Festival in Lutterworth, U.K., at the end of August before her break from touring.
