Marcus Rashford Appeals for Information on Missing 'Family Friend' in Colombia

Footballer Marcus Rashford has lent his support to find Anton Green, a 43-year-old British national who has been missing in Colombia since August 5.

Green, described by Rashford as a 'family friend,' was reported missing after his family had not heard from him for several weeks, a situation they state is highly unusual for him. Green, who is originally from Whalley Range in Manchester, has been living in Colombia for the past three years. He reportedly settled near the capital, Bogotá, after developing an affinity for the country's culture during travels across Europe and South America.

His sister, Sian Tuohey, 40, has led the public appeal for information, stating that her brother has had no contact since August 5. She mentioned that Anton had experienced mental health difficulties around the same time last year. The family believes he may have been in the Fontibón and Mesitas del Colegio areas before his disappearance and that he might have been planning to travel to neighboring Ecuador.

Anton Green is described as a dark-skinned man, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with short afro hair. His sister has shared an online appeal urging both expatriates and locals in Colombia to come forward with any details regarding his whereabouts.

"My brother Anton has been missing in Colombia for the last 6 weeks," Tuohey stated. "He has been living there since 2023, but he has made no contact with the family now since August 5th. Please share, as the police are keen for any information from anyone who may have spoken to him prior to him going missing."

A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office confirmed that they are providing support to the family of the British man reported missing in Colombia and are liaising with local authorities.
