Emma Thynn, the Marchioness of Bath, was recently observed vacationing in St. Tropez, France. The 40-year-old was photographed at the iconic Le Club 55, an establishment that has hosted notable figures since its founding in 1955. Thynn showcased her toned physique in a black bikini as she emerged from the sea.
This getaway follows a significant legal development for her family. Emma's husband, Ceawlin Thynn, the 8th Marquess of Bath, recently won a High Court bid to ensure their nine-year-old son, Henry, can inherit a portion of his estimated £157 million fortune. Henry was born via a surrogate in America.
The legal challenge centered on the definition of 'children' within historical family trusts, which predated modern fertility treatments and used a pre-1970 common law definition. Ceawlin Thynn sought a court's 'blessing' to allow Henry, who is genetically his son with Emma, to benefit from these trusts. Mr. Justice Matthews ruled in favor, stating it would be unfair to treat Henry as not being his father's son, acknowledging that he is their genetic child and is treated as such by his parents and the public.
While Henry's older brother, John, aged 11, is set to inherit before him due to the principle of primogeniture, the High Court ruling opens the possibility for Henry to still benefit from the family's wealth. The couple's second son, Henry, was born in 2016 after Emma Thynn experienced a rare inflammatory condition during her first pregnancy.
