Fashion designer Marc Jacobs has ignited controversy following his declaration that he would style Luigi Mangione, a man accused of the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, for his potential trial.

Jacobs, 63, made this assertion during a lie detector test administered as part of a recent interview with Vanity Fair. When questioned about styling Mangione, Jacobs responded affirmatively, stating, "I think he looks pretty good the way he dresses." He further agreed with the notion that Mangione is a fashion "trendsetter" after learning that Nordstrom sold out of burgundy sweaters following Mangione's appearance in one at his 2024 arraignment.

The comments drew significant backlash online, with many expressing outrage and criticism. Online reactions ranged from ridicule to fury, with some users questioning Jacobs' judgment and values.

Representatives for Marc Jacobs did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
