A Midtown Manhattan high-rise office building was evacuated Tuesday morning amid concerns that it was at risk of collapsing. The building is located in the 200 block of East 42nd Street, near Grand Central Terminal.
Officials with the New York Fire Department received a call around 8 a.m. reporting falling bricks. The department responded to the scene, and authorities subsequently ordered the evacuation of the structure.
The building previously housed offices for the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, according to reports.
