Manchester United has signed goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a two-year contract, with an option to extend for a further season. This move is expected to lead to the departure of Turkey international Altay Bayindir from Old Trafford.

Darlow's contract at Leeds United expired this summer. While he was offered a new deal by Leeds, he chose to join Manchester United. Leeds United confirmed Darlow's departure in a statement, noting that he opted to "explore a different challenge" and wished him "the best wishes of everyone at Elland Road."

Darlow finished last season as Daniel Farke's first-choice goalkeeper at Leeds. The 35-year-old Welsh international has accumulated 279 club appearances and earned 15 caps for his country.

"I am extremely proud to sign for Manchester United," Darlow stated. "I'm joining an excellent group of goalkeepers and I'm really looking forward to all pushing each other to ensure that we maintain the highest standards, which this club demands."

Darlow is anticipated to serve as the deputy to the first-choice goalkeeper, Senne Lammens. With Lammens taking a three-week break following Belgium's World Cup campaign, Darlow is expected to participate in Manchester United's pre-season fixtures, beginning with a match against Wrexham in Helsinki on July 18.
