Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, 27, married his childhood sweetheart Alessia Elefante on Friday in Locorotondo, Italy. The ceremony took place at the Chiesa Madre di San Giorgio Martire. Elefante, 29, wore a strapless lace corseted gown with sheer polka dot arm sleeves, while Donnarumma sported a white tuxedo jacket and black tailored trousers. The couple were seen celebrating as they exited the church as husband and wife.
Several of Donnarumma's football colleagues were present, including Pep Guardiola, Sandro Tonali, Paolo Maldini, and Nicolo Barella. Erling Haaland also attended with his partner, Isabel Haugseng Johansen. Haaland was later seen leading a "Viking row" chant on the dance floor during the reception.
The wedding follows a civil marriage the couple completed earlier this year, announced in May on Instagram with the caption "Long-term contract signed." Donnarumma and Elefante, an interior designer, have known each other for years and officially began dating in 2016, the same year Donnarumma emerged as a prominent goalkeeper at AC Milan. Elefante has supported Donnarumma throughout his career moves, relocating with him from Milan to Paris for his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, and later to Manchester.
The couple welcomed their son, Leo, in 2024. Donnarumma proposed to Elefante later that year in Paris during a surprise candlelit dinner.
