Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Fatal Yacht Club Stabbing

Victor Panebianco was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of Christopher Millwater, his girlfriend's former romantic partner, during a love-triangle incident at the Stony Brook Yacht Club on Long Island. Panebianco, 32, of North Carolina, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter last month for the Nov. 10 killing.

Prosecutors stated that Panebianco and his girlfriend, Kacy Corso, who had previously dated Millwater, traveled from North Carolina to confront the victim. Millwater, a member of the yacht club, arrived at the location around 3:40 a.m. and was ambushed by Panebianco and Corso in the parking lot.

According to authorities, Millwater attempted to evade Panebianco by driving around his vehicle, but Panebianco crashed into him, trapping him. Surveillance footage captured Panebianco pursuing Millwater on foot while brandishing a knife and subsequently stabbing him twice in the chest. Millwater's last words were reported as, "You're stabbing me?"

Police responded to the scene and discovered Millwater's body. Panebianco and Corso were apprehended later in North Carolina. Corso, 33, has also pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and is scheduled to receive a seven-year prison sentence.

Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney described the killing as "brutal" and expressed hope that the sentence would bring solace to Millwater's loved ones.
