Man Sentenced for Zombie Knife Attack Captured by Police Dog
A man who stabbed another individual twice with a zombie knife was apprehended by a police dog after fleeing the scene.
In Ilkeston, England, Luke Hurdowar, 23, has been sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for a daylight stabbing incident involving a zombie knife. The attack occurred on June 26, when Hurdowar drove his Audi alongside the victim, who was known to him, and engaged in a physical altercation.
Hurdowar then produced a foot-long zombie knife from his waistband and stabbed the victim twice before fleeing the scene in his vehicle. The injured man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities later located Hurdowar driving the same car. He attempted to evade officers on foot by entering a park. During the pursuit, police dog Ultor was deployed and successfully apprehended Hurdowar by dragging him to the ground.
Hurdowar was arrested the following day and subsequently pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article. He was sentenced on September 2 at Derby Crown Court.
Detective Constable Danielle Causer of Derbyshire Police stated that the attack was brazen and occurred in a public area with potential for children to be present, highlighting the perpetrator's disregard for public safety. She emphasized the wider impact of knife crime and the commitment of the police to addressing those who carry knives.
