Alex Allegretto, 39, has pleaded guilty to upskirting a young girl in a Cardiff shopping center. The incident occurred on July 7, when a mother reported Allegretto after he filmed beneath her daughter's skirt at St. David's 2 shopping center.

Allegretto was captured on CCTV leaving the scene and heading toward his car. He was later arrested at his home in Maesteg, Bridgend County Borough, for voyeurism. He admitted to the offense of operating a mobile phone beneath the clothing of another person for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification.

At his sentencing on August 5 at Cardiff Magistrates' Court, Allegretto was ordered to register with the police for five years under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. He was also given a 140-hour unpaid work requirement, ordered to complete rehabilitation activity requirements, and fined £199.

Sgt. Luis Antony of South Wales Police stated that the victim continues to be affected by the incident, experiencing anxiety and worry about people walking behind her. Antony emphasized that no one should endure such an offense and expressed hope that the court's outcome would bring comfort to the victim and aid in rebuilding her confidence.
