Ellie Mead discovered a cache hidden within the wall of her home in Bicester, Oxfordshire, containing a coin and a message dating back to 1971. The note, left by former electrician David Judd, promised a "one pint best beer" to whoever returned the coin.

Mead initiated a Facebook appeal to locate Judd, successfully tracing his daughter, Helen Russell. Russell confirmed that her father, now 92 and living in Devon, was aware of the hidden caches and intended to honor the offer. She noted that Judd had hidden similar items in other properties but kept their exact locations undisclosed.

Judd, who is now 92, reportedly hid coins in various properties. His daughter stated that he did not reveal the exact locations of all the hidden items, suggesting that other such caches might still be undiscovered.

David Judd sits in a living room and smiles at the camera. He has combed grey hair and a check shirt.
