New York City police are searching for an individual who randomly punched a 65-year-old man in the face inside a subway station in Queens last week.

The unprovoked assault occurred around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday as the victim was entering the turnstiles at the Sutphin Boulevard-Archer Avenue station in Jamaica. According to the NYPD, an unidentified stranger approached the man, struck him in the face, and then fled the scene on foot.

Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Authorities have released images of the suspect, described as wearing a white T-shirt, a green baseball cap, and carrying a dark-colored backpack.

This incident follows a similar unprovoked attack approximately one month prior, when a 65-year-old man was shoved onto a subway platform while aboard a northbound 1 train at the 28th Street station.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information regarding Thursday's assault to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or the Spanish-language line at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
