Man Launches Racist Tirade in Store, Flees Without Paying
Footage captures an incident where a man subjected a Black woman to racial slurs and theft in a Coventry convenience store.
A man unleashed a torrent of racist abuse and fled a convenience store without paying for merchandise, an incident captured on video. The confrontation occurred at a One Stop in Henley Green, Coventry.
The unidentified man was filmed arguing with staff and customers, eventually directing his aggression toward a Black woman recording the event. He told her to "get back on your boat" and questioned her origins, asking if she was "Jamaican." He also used the racial slur "black c***."
Witnesses reported that the man became verbally aggressive after complaining about being made to wait for service. He was heard swearing at a staff member and demanding that she "f****** do your job."
The woman filming challenged his behavior, telling him to "go back into your cave." When she asked him to repeat the slur he had used, he again said "black c***" as he exited the store.
Nicola Salmon, 47, who filmed the encounter, stated that she felt "broken" by the experience. She explained that she had been comforting a female employee whose sister had recently passed away when the man approached and began shouting. Salmon started recording when the man's aggression escalated.
"I have never had anybody... I have always seen people so warming and kind. I never knew this type of hatred until it happened to me," Salmon said. "It broke me and it made me feel like what is the point?"
