Man Killed, Others Injured in North London Hit-and-Run; Woman Arrested
A 48-year-old man died and a 31-year-old remains in critical condition after a vehicle struck pedestrians in Enfield on September 20.
A fatal collision in north London on September 20 resulted in the death of a 48-year-old man and left another 31-year-old man in life-threatening condition. The incident occurred in Chase Side, Enfield, shortly after 12:40 a.m. when a car struck pedestrians. Emergency services, including the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, Fire Brigade, and Air Ambulance, responded to the scene.
Several individuals were transported to the hospital for assessment of their injuries. The deceased, a passenger in the vehicle, had his next-of-kin notified and is being supported by specially trained officers. The 31-year-old victim was also a passenger in the car.
The following day, a 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving with a prescribed controlled drug above the legal limit. She was subsequently arrested again during police questioning for failing to stop.
The woman has since been released on bail as inquiries continue. The Metropolitan Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is seeking witnesses and urging anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the area at the time of the collision to come forward. Detective Inspector Simon Ager stated that any information could be vital to the investigation.
