Man in Joe Biden Mask Eats Banana at Texas Family's Doorstep
The family reported the incident to police, who found no evidence of a crime.
A Texas family experienced a frightening encounter when their doorbell camera recorded a man wearing a mask of President Joe Biden standing at their front door and eating a banana. The incident occurred Sunday evening around 8 p.m. in Watauga, a suburb of Fort Worth.
The footage from the family's Nest doorbell camera shows the barefoot individual approach the door. The man, wearing a T-shirt with the word "FREEDOM" printed on it, opened his jacket to reveal the shirt before peeling and eating the banana. He then leaned toward the camera, appearing to tap the doorbell twice. The man eventually turned and left the property.
The family contacted the Watauga Police Department, providing the doorbell camera footage. According to Police Chief Jim Lewis, officers searched the neighborhood but could not locate the individual. The department concluded that no criminal offense had occurred.
"Although the individual’s choice of attire and snack may have raised a few eyebrows, neither appears to have violated the law at this time," Lewis stated. "And while we can’t explain the costume, the banana, or the apparent political identity crisis, we can confirm that being bizarre is not, in itself, a criminal offense."
Watauga police have since been made aware of social media posts from other residents reporting similar sightings of the masked man. The department encouraged residents to continue reporting suspicious activity, adding that they take such reports seriously, even when the circumstances are unusual.
The video of the incident has circulated online, prompting varied reactions from viewers who expressed a mix of fear and confusion.
