Hassan Kariem, a 42-year-old IT specialist and father of two, has been identified as the individual who died after falling from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell, Georgia, on Monday.

The incident occurred on the 200-foot-tall Goliath roller coaster, which reaches speeds of up to 70 mph. Witnesses reported that riders were left screaming after the man fell. This incident follows other roller coaster-related incidents at Six Flags parks. In 2022, 22-year-old Christopher Hawley died after riding the X2 roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. More recently, Six Flags Magic Mountain announced the demolition of its X2 roller coaster after a series of lawsuits alleging severe rider injuries. In one case, Pamela Guillen, 40, suffered severe brain hemorrhages after riding the X2. Her daughter reported that Guillen appeared lifeless after exiting the ride.

The Goliath rollercoaster is the tallest in Georgia, featuring a 200-foot drop and a top speed of 70 mph. The park was hosting a haunted house exhibition at the time of the incident. Investigations into the precise cause of Kariem's fall are ongoing.
