Man Found Hiding Under Couple's Bed at Miami Hotel
Authorities arrested a suspect after a couple discovered him concealed beneath their bed at the Provident Doral Hotel.
A couple's stay at the Provident Doral Hotel in Doral, Florida, turned alarming when they found a man allegedly hiding under their bed. The incident occurred on Thursday morning.
The couple checked into the hotel on Wednesday. According to an arrest affidavit, the woman reported feeling movement near the bed around 4 a.m. on Thursday. Later, at approximately 6:30 a.m., she felt the bed itself move.
Around 7:45 a.m., the woman checked under the bed and discovered Ritchel Calvaire, 25, allegedly concealed there. The couple immediately left the room and alerted hotel security.
Hotel staff indicated that Calvaire had previously stayed at the hotel but checked out on August 31. He had reportedly returned two days after his checkout to retrieve belongings and was escorted off the property, according to the affidavit. Investigators believe Calvaire returned a second time, possibly by scaling a balcony fence and entering through a rear sliding glass door, to hide in the occupied room.
Calvaire was apprehended by law enforcement later on Thursday. He faces charges of felony burglary of an occupied dwelling and resisting an officer without violence. Calvaire is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with his bond pending.
