Man Fatally Stabbed, Woman Critically Injured in Pennsylvania Home Invasion
A suspect is in custody after allegedly attacking two sleeping victims in Edgewood, Pennsylvania.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left one man dead and a woman in critical condition in Edgewood, Pennsylvania. Authorities responded to a residence around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Upon arrival, officers found 46-year-old Idris Evans and an unidentified woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. Evans was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The woman remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Police apprehended the suspect, identified as Elijah Hemingway of Pittsburgh, after a K9 unit located him behind a nearby house. Detectives determined through witness interviews that Hemingway allegedly entered the home and attacked the victims while they were asleep. Hemingway had lacerations on his hand at the time of his apprehension and was taken to a hospital for treatment. He faces charges including homicide, aggravated assault, and burglary.
