A 40-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon in Queens after an incident in a parking lot where he confronted a group of approximately five men while armed with a metal pole and a piece of wood. The altercation, which occurred near 194th Street and Linden Boulevard around 3:14 p.m., escalated when the man attempted to strike one of the individuals with the pole.
Video footage of the event shows the man being chased across the street by at least two attackers. During the pursuit, one assailant brandished a knife and repeatedly stabbed the victim in the stomach before he collapsed. Police arrived at the scene to find the victim unconscious and suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to Long Island Jewish Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

One suspect has been apprehended in connection with the stabbing. Authorities are still searching for a second suspect, described as wearing a blue polo shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.
Approximately 30 minutes before the Queens stabbing, a separate incident occurred in Midtown Manhattan where a man in his 30s and a 35-year-old woman were also stabbed. The woman sustained puncture wounds to her back and neck, while the man suffered stab wounds to his torso. Both were taken to a local hospital in stable condition. Police are seeking a suspect in this incident described as wearing multi-colored shorts, a black tank top, and a brown baseball cap.
Residents in the Queens neighborhood expressed surprise at the daytime violence, though some stated it did not diminish their overall sense of safety in the area, describing it as a peaceful neighborhood where they felt comfortable raising their children.
